Though the certificate says Alfred was the son of William Estall, William was living with Sarah (Whitmarsh) French five miles to the south at the time of Alfred's birth; and Alfred's birth certificate lists no father.
Bessie (Estall) Schutze, who was three years old when Alfred died, believed he'd died from a horse accident. This certificate says he died of diphtheria and albuminuria (kidney disease).
