It easily and quickly uploaded html pages, images, and videos, providing a side-by-side view of the files at home and on the web server and making the transfer between them simple.<\/p>\n<p>But the company has \u201cretired\u201d the free version and requires users to purchase their professional version for $49.95. That\u2019s a reasonable investment for businesses. For personal use, less so. So I looked around for a free FTP file transfer program and decided on FileZilla. I downloaded, installed, and began using it today.<\/p>\n<p>The verdict: <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">I like it<\/span><\/strong>. It has all the features I used in FTP LE, including<br \/>\n\u2022 Side by side file views by directory<br \/>\n\u2022 Status window to show the current and past transfers<br \/>\n\u2022 Easy navigation among directories on home computer and web server<br \/>\n\u2022 Bookmarks to instantly jump to frequently used directories<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/genealogy.thundermoon.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/filezilla.png\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-169 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/genealogy.thundermoon.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/filezilla.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"937\" height=\"747\" srcset=\"https:\/\/genealogy.thundermoon.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/filezilla.png 937w, https:\/\/genealogy.thundermoon.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/filezilla-300x239.png 300w, https:\/\/genealogy.thundermoon.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/filezilla-768x612.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The program gets a 4-\u00bd star editor review on CNET and a four star average user rating. So far I would rate it a five.<\/p>\n<p>Caveat: Some reviewers complain of malware being installed along with the program. I downloaded my version from the FileZilla site and had no malware problem.
